The University of Novi Sad has more than 50.000 students and 5.000 employees and as such, it is one of the largest educational and research centres in Central Europe. It belongs to the group of universities that provide a broad range of comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of almost all scientific areas. The University of Novi Sad offers 300 accredited study programs on all study levels, undergraduate, master, specialist and doctoral studies, which are carried out on the Faculties.
The Faculty of Agriculture, unit of University is an accredited higher education and scientific research institution, founded in 1954. It has almost 250 young and experienced researchers engaged in various projects.
Faculty of Agriculture was the coordinator and participant in TEMPUS, IPA, SEE.ERA NET, FP6, FP7 and Horizon 2020 projects and participant in many COST actions, etc. Beside the mentioned projects, it had established a series of activities in the framework of bilateral cooperation (Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, Portugal, China, etc), as well as in multilateral projects.
The Faculty is a member of the following international associations: EUA, ICA, CASEE, VUA, AREV, AUF. Great importance is given to networking with leading research centers in the country and abroad and the mobility of the Faculty’s researchers. The future orientation of the Faculty of Agriculture is the implementation of its multidisciplinary research, and continuation of traditionally fruitful collaboration with various stakeholders (local and regional authorities, different SMEs, etc.) which fits into the internationalization agenda of University of Novi Sad.
With its eight departments, four experimental stations and laboratories, the faculty is a reputable institution not only in Serbia. One of its departments is the Department of Water Management where, with respect to the project topic, several bachelor and master courses are thought that concern land reclamation, soil erosion and occurrence of flash floods.
